Godfall is a multiplayer co-op game where players can explore its deeply fascinating high arcane world solo or with two other people in a co-op. The armors player possess serves as classes in Godfall and they will have the freedom to opt for different playstyles later on in the game thanks to a flexible class system.
Players can choose from one of the three different characters at the beginning of the game as we saw in the reveal trailer.Įach of these characters has different abilities and features courtesy to their armor sets which are known as Valorplates. In Godfall “you play as one of the last remnants of an exalted knight’s order.” In the short glimpse of the gameplay, we see our main character swiftly swinging a high sword towards a rhino/giant hybrid that is seen hurling towards the player. The specifics haven’t been revealed yet but we do know that there will be different weapon classes with slow attacks and high DPS and vice versa. Like the Monster Hunter series, the game will feature a plethora of weapons such as swords, spears, etc.
The game’s combat has been inspired by Capcom’s highly popular Monster Hunter series. It means that the game emphasizes heavily on melee combat with hack n slash elements with loot at the center of it all. Godfall is the first in the genre of “looter-slasher”.

In an interview with Playstation Lifestyle, Keith Lee, the creative director of Godfall revealed that the early inspirations for the game were Brandon Sanderson’s The Stormlight Archive series, Joe Abercrombie’s The First Law Trilogy and Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series. They are- Earth, Water, Air, Spirit, and Fire. The game features five different realms which players will be able to explore. Godfall is set in a high fantasy universe. It’s hard not to compare the similarities between the two titles as both are loot driven action RPGs. Godfall is being published by Gearbox Software, most notably known for developing the Borderlands series. Godfall is an action RPG in development at Counterplay Games, a relatively new studio that has only developed one title before this which was Duelyst- a free-to-play card game. Each helmet shipped in a full printed box with custom cut foam to ensure the helmets arrived safely. In addition to the helmets themselves, we were responsible for designing functional packaging that would add to the overall premium feel of the replica. The final replicas are composed of nearly 30 discrete components we produced over 2,000 cast pieces to create these helmets over the 5 week span of this project.Ĭritical to this project’s success was the idea that each helmet unboxing needed to be an experience – not just a fun thing in a bland box. Our team started with low resolution game assets and created a replica helmet capable of physical production, designed to facilitate both streamlined production as well as maximum fidelity. To promote both the launch of the PlayStation 5 and the launch title Godfall, Gearbox required sixty copies of their “Grayhawk” armor set helmet, complete with illuminated display stand, to be produced and shipped internationally to specially selected influencers and personalities.
